MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611080375 A) filed by Hcl Technologies Limited on June 30, 2026, for Method And System For Migrating Legacy Test Scripts To Target Test Automation Frameworks.

Inventors include Richard Mochahari; Srinivas T; and Yogesh Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: A method (500) and system (100) for migrating legacy network test scripts written in a first scripting language to a target test automation framework implemented in a second programming language is disclosed. A processor (104) receives legacy network test scripts and API modules. Using a large language model (LLM) (112), structured API documentation comprising machine-readable API documentation entries for APIs defined in the API modules is generated. Using an embedding model, vector embeddings corresponding to the machine-readable API documentation entries are generated and stored with the entries in a vector database (116). Legacy script elements are extracted from a legacy network test script, and a legacy-element embedding is generated. Candidate API documentation entries are retrieved, ranked based on similarity scores, and used to select a target API. Target framework code is generated based on the legacy network test script, the target API, and migration rules. [
