MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621082163 A) filed by State Bank Of India Sbi on July 03, 2026, for Method And System For Measuring And Optimizing Cost-To-Income Ratio Of Organizational Units.

Inventors include Snehasish Pradhan; and Nitin Vijay.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method (100) and system (200) for measuring and optimizing the Cost-to-Income Ratio (CIR) to determine performance of organizational units, particularly banking branches. As illustrated in FIG. 3, the present invention integrates multi-source enterprise data and applies advanced analytical techniques to evaluate each branch efficiency in a holistic manner. The branches are dynamically grouped into homogeneous clusters using a K-means clustering algorithm based on operating characteristics. Within each cluster, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is employed under Variable Returns to Scale (VRS) assumptions using both income-oriented and expense-oriented models to benchmark branches as efficient or low-performing. Further, a linear optimization model is executed for each branch to generate an optimized product portfolio that maximizes future interest income while maintaining an unchanged Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) ratio. The present invention periodically retrains analytical models to adapt to changing branch behavior and continuously improve financial performance and productivity.
