MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641081824 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Tiruchirappalli on July 02, 2026, for Method And System For Managing Communication In Hierarchical Hexagonal Network-On-Chip.

Inventors include Reddy, B. Naresh Kumar; and Lakshminarayanan, Gopalakrishnan.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: A system (202) for managing communication in a hierarchical network comprises a memory (304) and a processor (302) coupled to the memory. The processor (302) is configured to receive an application request at a manager router (102) indicating a communication requirement between a source node and a destination node. The processor (302) determines a hierarchy level for routing based on a topological relationship, hierarchical proximity, or cluster association between the source and destination nodes, where the hierarchy level corresponds to a slave level, master level, or manager level. The processor (302) generates candidate communication paths corresponding to the hierarchy level. The processor (302) computes a cost value for each of the candidate communication paths. The processor (302) further identifies an optimal communication path having minimum cost value, forwards data through the optimal path, and updates network state.
