MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621070489 A) filed by Hle Glascoat Limited on June 05, 2026, for Method And System For Internal Glass Lining Of Metallic Structures.
Inventors include Ishant Jain; and Juergen Reinemuth.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL GLASS LINING OF METALLIC STRUCTURES A method for forming an internal glass lining (44) on a metallic tubular structure (10) includes positioning a glass insert (12) concentrically within the metallic tubular structure (10) to define an annular radial gap (14), and heating the metallic tubular structure (10) externally using an electromagnetic heating source (30) to conduct heat through a wall to the glass insert (12). The conducted heat softens the glass insert (12), causing the glass insert (12) to thermally expand radially and close the annular radial gap (14), and fuse to the inner surface along a fusion interface (42) to form the glass lining (44). The metallic tubular structure (10) and the glass lining (44) are cooled at a controlled cooling rate, reducing residual thermal stress. The method eliminates internal accessibility constraints by using external heating and enables continuous coating in a single thermal cycle without requiring internal mechanical tooling, nozzles, or spray equipment, overcoming batch-length limitations of conventional furnace-based methods.
