Abstract: This disclosure relates to method and system for detecting seams in stent grafts through image processing. The method may include receiving an image of stent graft. For each of plurality of wires in image, the method may further include iteratively identifying contour corresponding to gap in wire between each two of plurality of seams to obtain plurality of contours; detecting each of plurality of seams in image based on identified plurality of contours to obtain location of each of plurality of seams; locating plurality of edge points in zig-zag pattern of wire based on location of each of plurality of seams; implementing at least one of first classifying step or second classifying step, and evaluating stent graft in image based on at least one of count of each of predefined set of seam types or count of each of predefined set of spring types.
