MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541015144 A) filed by Innomotics Gmbh on February 21, 2025, for Method And System For Early Detection Of Carbon Monoxide Probe Blockage.

Inventors include Schoone, Sunny; A, Balakrishnan; and Shanbhag, Atul.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: A method for early detection of a carbon monoxide (CO) probe blockage in a cement kiln is disclosed. The method includes monitoring Kiln Inlet Oxygen (O2) and Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) levels using sensors, and identifying incomplete oxygen cycles where the Kiln Inlet O2 level fails to return to baseline within a specific time period. The processor determines if the count of incomplete oxygen cycles exceeds a specific count, and further determines if the Kiln Inlet NOx level is below a specific threshold. Based on these determinations, the processor detects a potential CO probe blockage. Upon detection, the processor alerts the user through visual, auditory, and digital notifications. This method ensures timely detection and intervention, maintaining efficient combustion and reducing harmful emissions in the cement kiln. FIG. 1
