Abstract: A method (500) and system (100) for detecting ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN) from slit-lamp images is disclosed. A slit- lamp image (302) of an ocular surface of a subject is received. A plurality of overlapping image patches (304) is generated from the slit-lamp image (302) based on a predefined patch size and overlap ratio. The plurality of overlapping image patches is converted into a plurality of patch embeddings using an embedding operation comprising a linear projection. An intermediate feature representation (308) of the slit-lamp image (302) is generated by processing the plurality of patch embeddings through an encoder (306) using a transformer-based neural network architecture. An image-level OSSN classification label is predicted based on the intermediate feature representation (308) using a classifier (310). A pixel-level OSSN segmentation mask (314) is generated based on the intermediate feature representation (308) using a decoder (312). Fig. 4
