Abstract: Disclosed herein are system (100) and method (500) for fuel tank cleaning event of vehicle. Initially, telematic data comprising a plurality of odometer readings and fuel data associated with the vehicle is obtained. Further, a fuel level corresponding to each odometer reading of the vehicle is determined and a first series of consecutive events comprising a first fuel tank filling event, a first fuel tank emptying event, and a second fuel tank filling event is identified. Furthermore, a timestamp duration associated with the first series of consecutive events is determined and a second series of consecutive events comprising a third fuel tank filling event, a second fuel tank emptying event, and a fourth fuel tank filling event is identified. Finally, the fuel tank cleaning event is identified based on identification of the second series of consecutive events.
