Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems (300) and methods (2000, 2100) for compression of an input image frame buffer (IB) and decompression of a compressed image frame buffer (C). Initially, deriving an image frame (I) is derived corresponding to the input image frame buffer (IB) captured by a sensor. Further, nearest k neighboring pixels are determined which are traversed to reach each pixel of interest in the image frame (I). Further, associated mask for the nearest k neighboring pixels is determined and a predicted image frame (I’). Moreover, a compressed image frame buffer (C) is generated by compressing a reduced entropy matrix (E) corresponding to the predicted image frame (I’) to be stored in an image buffer queue for post processing.
