Abstract: The present disclosure describes a technique for determining pre-health detection operation of an at-least one oxygen sensor in a vehicle. An oxygen sensor pre-health detection system provided in an engine control unit, the oxygen sensor pre-health detection system comprising: a feedback control module coupled with a plurality of sensors (107) configured to continuously monitor at least one vehicle operational parameter. Further, a detecting module connected with the feedback control module configured to detect variation in at least one vehicle operational parameter. The detecting module configured to detect presence of variation based on one of a predefined time and a predefined threshold value. Further, a decision module configured to determine a decision to initiate a delay in the health detection operation of at-least one oxygen sensor.
