The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: A method and system for adaptive beam management in satellite communication using sectored elevation angles is disclosed. The system includes a satellite (102) with a phased array antenna (104) configured for digital beamforming and an onboard beam controller and scheduler (106) comprising a machine learning module (108). The elevation angle of a ground pass is divided into sectors, and beams are selected from pre-stored beamsets comprising coarse beams and refined beams based on the current elevation angle sector. Modulation schemes, coding schemes, and power allocation are adapted based on the elevation angle sector and real-time link margin. The machine learning module (108) optimizes beam selection and transmission parameters based on historical ground pass data, while closed loop feedback from ground stations enables adaptive adjustment of elevation angle sectors.
