MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113972 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on September 23, 2026, for Method And Structural Health Monitoring System For Monitoring Dynamic Strain (vibration) Of A Structure.
Inventors include Aayush Dua; Suriya Prakash Shanmugam; and Abhinav Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present subject matter includes a method (1300) for monitoring dynamic strain of a structure. The method (1300) includes simultaneously sampling a plurality of Analog signals associated with the dynamic strain experienced by a structure, received as an input to convert the plurality of Analog signals corresponding to a similar instant into a plurality of digital signals. The method (1300) includes classifying one or more samples of the plurality digital signals as samples of a valuable signal based on dynamically estimated channel characteristics. The method (1300) includes generating one or more payloads comprising the one or more digital signals, provided with a locally generated microsecond timestamp, wherein the one or more payloads is enclosed within predefined boundaries to form and transmit data packets. The method (1300) includes combining the locally generated microsecond timestamp with a globally synchronized NTP timestamp to reconstruct a reconstructed timestamp for the one or more payloads providing a local timing reference and a global time reference for the one or more payloads, enabling global temporal synchronization of the at least one digital signal for structural health monitoring. The method (1300) includes asynchronously uploading the one or more payloads to a server (106) in form of binary files using HTTP POST request. (FIG. 3)
