MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092643 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on July 30, 2026, for Method And Kit For In-Vitro Detection Of An Interneuron Migration Disorder.

Inventors include Dinesh Upadhya; and Divya Chandran.

The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: A method and kit for in-vitro detection of an interneuron migration disorder is provided. The method includes a technique for quantitatively determining the expression level of biomarker corresponding to interneuron migration disorder in extracellular vesicles and/or microRNA isolated from amniotic fluid collected between 15 and 20 weeks of gestation. The disclosure enables molecular assessment during early gestation, prior to the appearance of detectable structural abnormalities by conventional prenatal imaging techniques, thereby providing a sensitive and reproducible platform for prenatal evaluation of neurodevelopmental disorders associated with defective GABAergic interneuron migration.
