Abstract: A mobility-zone based distributed Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) system for resource allocation in New Radio (NR) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) sidelink communication is disclosed. A plurality of user equipments (UEs) obtain mobility information including position, velocity, and direction, and determine mobility zones based on spatial proximity and mobility similarity. The UEs perform coordinated allocation of radio resources such that UEs within a same mobility zone select non- overlapping resources, while permitting reuse among distinct mobility zones based on a spatial separation condition. The system operates in distributed Mode 2 and modifies sensing-based SPS by applying zone-based constraints. The invention achieves up to ~35% improvement in packet reception ratio, 20–40% increase in throughput, and up to 50% reduction in collision probability under vehicle densities of 20–140 vehicles/km at 5.9 GHz with 10 MHz bandwidth. The approach enhances spectral efficiency, scalability, and reliability without requiring infrastructure support. (FIG. 1)
