MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441097430 A) filed by L&t Technology Services Limited on December 10, 2024, for Method And Apparatus For Operating Drone To Protect From Unexpected Collision.
Inventor includes Emmanuel Nehemiah Jebaraj.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and a method of operating a remotely operated drone to protect from unexpected collision. The drone controller of the apparatus utilizes sensor data to detect objects in the drone's vicinity. Upon detection, the drone controller activates the automatic control mode of the drone. The drone controller autonomously adjusts orientation of at least one propulsion engine and generate thrust to rapidly maneuver the drone away from trajectory of the object. When the risk of collision is mitigated, the drone controller may switch from the automatic control mode back to the manual control mode, thereby ensuring operational efficiency and user flexibility. In this manner, the present disclosure enhances safety, stability, and adaptability of the drone, thereby making the drone suitable for dynamic and high-risk environments. FIG.2
