Abstract: [00044] The present invention provides a method and apparatus for managing solar-based power system. In one embodiment, an inverter apparatus includes a single stage inverter operably connectable to a photovoltaic array and configured to receive a variable DC power from the photovoltaic array and convert the variable DC power into an AC power at a first voltage. The inverter apparatus includes a control unit configured to generate a control signal based on the voltage of the variable DC power and a target grid voltage. The inverter apparatus includes transformer units operably connectable to the control unit configured to receive the AC power at the first voltage from the single stage inverter and deliver an AC power at a second voltage to a grid based on the control signal in such a manner that modulation index of the single stage inverter is in the range of 0.8 to 1 and voltage across the grid remains within the permissible limits.
