The method may include parsing, by the processor, a bitstream to obtain a BVG-CCCM flag. The method may include, in response to the BVG-CCCM flag indicating the BVG-CCCM mode is selected for the corresponding chroma block, generating, by the processor, a BVG-CCCM mode prediction of the corresponding chroma block.
