Abstract: A method for manipulating a video stream of an object scene captured by a camera is provided. The video stream is a video stream from a video conferencing endpoint and each image frame of the video stream contains one or more regions of interest of the object scene, each region of interest mapped according to a respective current camera projection type. The method comprises: for each region of interest, performing a loop comprising the steps of: (i) analysing the region of interest to determine respective values of one or more predetermined characteristics of the region of interest, (ii) selecting a camera projection type for that region of interest from a set of predetermined camera projection types on the basis of the determined values of the predetermined characteristics, and (iii) switching the current camera projection type to the selected camera projection type to change the mapping of the object scene in the region of interest, thereby providing a remapped video stream, wherein the one or more predetermined characteristics include, at least, a size of the region of interest and/or a location of the region of interest in the object scene.
