Abstract: Discharge from hospital care is a necessary but complex process that requires the involvement of several departments, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists and billing staff. In public hospitals and rural health care facilities, the discharge processes are frequently impeded by understaffing, patient overload, and lack of a digital infrastructure, making manual collaboration time-consuming and prone to mistakes. This project propose MediFlow AI, a novel intelligent multi-agent system for hospital discharge automation based on Large Language Models (LLMs) and agent-based orchestration, addressing the full-scale discharge process. MediFlow AI utilizes dedicated AI agents for detecting readiness for discharge, nursing checklist creation, prescription generation, discharge summary generation, and billing processing tasks. Developed using FastAPI, MongoDB, LangChain, LangGraph, and hosted by Groq LLaMA 3.1 model. This project has significant potential for implementation in resource-limited government hospitals and rural healthcare centres. It has the potential to reduce discharge backlogs, standardize clinical documentations, and reduce administrative burden on overstretched healthcare providers and operators.
