Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart and sustainable system for converting medical waste into self-powered healthcare devices. The system is designed to process commonly generated medical waste such as tablet blister packs, saline plastics, and contaminated cotton from healthcare facilities. It comprises an automated segregation unit for classification of waste, followed by a sterilization module employing UV-C radiation and/or thermal treatment to eliminate harmful pathogens such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV/AIDS. A material processing unit enables separation of blister pack components, recycling of saline plastics, and conversion of cotton waste into useful materials. These recovered materials are further utilized in the fabrication of wearable or portable healthcare devices integrated with triboelectric nanogenerators for self-power generation. The proposed system ensures safe waste disposal, promotes resource recovery, and supports the development of eco-friendly, energy-efficient smart healthcare technologies.
