MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611117326 A) filed by Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University on September 30, 2026, for Medical Imaging Radiation Assessment System.

Inventors include Miss. Manasvi Vishwakarma; Dr. Dheeraj Kumar; Dr. Munish Rastogi; Mr. Virendra Kumar Maurya; and Mr. Nitish Verma.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a medical imaging radiation assessment system comprising a patient-data interface, a radiation-exposure data store, a display interface, and a processing unit operatively coupled thereto. The radiation-exposure data store stores dose records corresponding to prior ionizing-radiation procedures of a patient. The processing unit aggregates the dose records to determine cumulative prior exposure and derives a prior-exposure coefficient therefrom. The prior-exposure coefficient is combined with patient-specific coefficients to generate a Patient Absorption Coefficient. The Patient Absorption Coefficient is combined with radiation information associated with a proposed medical imaging procedure and tissue and modality sensitivity information to generate a Radiation Absorption Index. The Radiation Absorption Index is assigned to a graded risk zone and stored with associated exposure information in the radiation-exposure data store for use during a subsequent imaging assessment.
