Abstract: ABSTRACT MECHANOCHEMICAL SYNTHESIS OF ZEOLITIC IMIDAZOLE-TETRAZOLE FRAMEWORK SOLID SOLUTIONS FOR ELECTROCATALYSIS A method (100) for mechanochemical synthesis of a solid solution material includes synthesizing (102) a first pristine zeolitic framework comprising a cobalt-based zeolitic imidazolate framework by combining cobalt ions with imidazole-based organic linkers. The method includes synthesizing (106) a second pristine zeolitic framework comprising a zinc-based zeolitic tetrazole framework by combining zinc ions with tetrazole-based organic linkers. The method includes blending (108) the first pristine zeolitic framework and the second pristine zeolitic framework under an inert atmosphere. The method includes subjecting (110) the blended frameworks to ball milling under solvent-free conditions in the inert atmosphere to produce an amorphous solid solution material comprising homogeneously distributed zinc and cobalt metal ions together with both imidazole-based and tetrazole-based organic linkers within a single-phase zeolitic framework structure. The method includes collecting (112) the amorphous solid solution material.
