Abstract: Mechanized system for splitting and pith removal from korai grass stalks Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanized system for splitting and pith removal from Korai grass stalks for subsequent natural fiber processing. The system comprises a base frame (1), pith removal assembly (2), linear gripper assembly (3), and drive motor assembly (4). The pith removal assembly includes an inclined pith removal blade (2.2) arranged at approximately 67 degrees and one or more pith splitting needles (2.3) for facilitating longitudinal splitting of the stalk. A soaked Korai grass stalk (8) is secured by a Korai grass gripper (3.3) and longitudinally pulled through the pith removal assembly. During movement, the splitting needles facilitate splitting of the stalk, while the inclined blade separates and removes the pith from the fibrous portion. The system provides controlled and repeatable processing while reducing the time and manual effort involved in conventional Korai grass preparation.
