Abstract: ABSTRACT MECHANICAL EXHAUST FLOW DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE FOR TWO WHEELERS The present invention relates to a portable mechanical diagnostic device designed to evaluate exhaust gas flow characteristics and backpressure ':?nditions in•two wheelers. The operating principle of the device is based on the Venturi effect where exhaust gases passing through a narrowed section increase in velocity while the pressure decreases. The device comprises a device inlet (8) for receiving exhaust gases from the vehicle tailpipe, a Venturi converging chamber (3) leading to a Ventw·i throat (5), a pressure sensing tube (1) connected to the Venturi measurement region and a differential pressure gauge or manometer (2) for displaying pressure variations generated by the exhaust flow. Additional components including a pressure relief valve (4), coupling sleeve (6), and micro-grid fins (7) assist in maintaining safe operation and stabilizing the gas flow through the device. During operation, exhaust gases enter through the inlet and pass through the Venturi section where pressure differences occur due to changes in gas velocity. These pressure variations are transmitted through the sensing tube to the pressure gaube allowing technicians to monitor pressure behavior and identify abnonnal backpressure conditions. The device is compact, portable. and designed for temporary attachmem to the exhaust outlet without requiring modification or disassembly of the vehicle exhaust system, providing a simple and cost effective method for diagnosing exhaust performance in service environments.
