Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanical escape corridor clearance system for multi-tier passenger vehicles. The system comprises a ladder-adjacent passenger seat (101), a fixed escape ladder assembly (103), a forward reclining passenger seat (104), and a mechanical corridor governor (105) operatively connected through a seat recline pivot (106) and a guide link (107). The mechanical corridor governor includes a governor cam (110), a follower roller (111), and a mechanical stop member (108) configured to automatically restrict further recline of the forward passenger seat upon reaching a predetermined escape corridor clearance. The arrangement maintains an unobstructed emergency egress passage between the forward reclining passenger seat and the fixed escape ladder assembly throughout the permissible recline range. The system operates entirely through passive mechanical interaction without electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, or motor-driven components. The invention is suitable for original equipment installation or retrofit in sleeper coach buses, railway coaches, recreational vehicles, marine passenger cabins, and other multi-tier passenger vehicles requiring reliable emergency escape clearance.
