Abstract: The increasing demand for sustainable and environmentally responsible engineering materials has encouraged the development of hybrid composites incorporating natural fibers. This proposed research aims to fabricate and mechanically characterize Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) composites hybridized with bamboo and banana natural fibers for sustainable engineering applications. The hybrid laminates will be fabricated using the hand lay-up technique followed by compression molding to achieve improved interfacial bonding and uniform fiber distribution. Mechanical characterization will be carried out through tensile, compressive, and impact tests in accordance with relevant ASTM standards to evaluate strength, stiffness, and energy absorption characteristics. The influence of hybrid natural fiber reinforcement on the mechanical performance of GFRP will be systematically analyzed and compared with conventional GFRP laminates. The expected outcome of this study is to demonstrate that bamboo–banana fiber hybridization can enhance impact resistance and provide acceptable structural strength while reducing material cost and environmental impact. The findings of this proposed work are intended to support the development of eco-friendly hybrid composites suitable for lightweight structural and semi-structural applications in automotive, construction, and consumer product industries.
