MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611086396 A) filed by Chandigarh University on July 15, 2026, for Mechanical Agricultural Crate With Load-Isolated Suspension And Passive Ventilation System.

Inventor includes Kush Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanical agricultural container assembly configured to protect perishable agricultural produce during storage, handling, and transportation by minimizing mechanical damage and preserving freshness. The assembly comprises an integrated exoskeleton having structural load-transfer pillars configured to transfer stacking loads directly to the base while isolating the produce storage region. A dual-stage shock isolation mechanism including a variable- geometry wave-profiled base and an internally suspended floating produce tray attenuates vibrations and impact forces generated during transit. An engineered air- tunnel network provides passive ventilation for dissipating accumulated heat and ethylene gas, thereby delaying ripening and reducing spoilage. The assembly further incorporates mechanical impact indicators and passive freshness monitoring windows for visual assessment without electronic components. Formed as a monolithic injection-molded structure, the assembly provides enhanced durability, cost-effective manufacture, energy-independent operation, extended shelf life, and reduced post- harvest losses for agricultural produce during transportation.
