The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a solar tracking system (100) utilizing a shared mechanical torque distribution network for independently positioning a plurality of photovoltaic modules while substantially reducing the number of dedicated drive actuators. The system includes one or more centralized actuators configured to generate rotational torque, a mechanical torque distribution network configured to distribute the rotational torque to a plurality of row and column drive members, selectively engageable torque transfer mechanisms associated with individual photovoltaic modules, locking mechanisms configured to retain selected module orientations, local position sensing devices, and a controller configured to selectively reposition addressed photovoltaic modules based on one or more optimization parameters including solar position, expected energy gain, movement energy, wind conditions, and maintenance constraints. The invention provides a scalable, energy- efficient, mechanically simplified, and cost-effective solar tracking architecture for independent photovoltaic module positioning.
