Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION TITLE: Maternal—Fetal Monitoring System for Early Detection of Amniotic Fluid Abnormalities and Pregnancy Risks This invention is an IoT-enabled, non-invasive wearable maternal—fetal monitoring system 5 designed for interval-based monitoring during the third trimester of pregnancy. The system acquires maternal and fetal physiological parameters along with abdominal sensing information at predefined or configurable monitoring intervals. The acquired information is processed using an ESP32-C3-based edge-processing unit for signal conditioning, feature extraction, amniotic-fluid status estimation and AI- based risk classification. The system 10 provides an indication of potential amniotic-fluid abnormalities and pregnancy-related physiological risks and generates alerts to facilitate timely clinical evaluation. Ultrasoundderived Amniotic Fluid Index measurements may be used as reference data for development and validation of the estimation approach. The system provides an additional non-invasive monitoring facility between scheduled clinical assessments, particularly for pregnant women 15 in rural and remote areas, while retaining ultrasound-based clinical assessment for confirmation.
