Abstract: ABSTRACT “MASTI ALERT: A PORTABLE BIOSENSOR FILM MATRIX FOR RAPID DETECTION OF MASTITIS IN MILK” This invention relates to Masti - alert: a portable biosensor film matrix for rapid detection of mastitis in milk. The biosensor comprises polymeric films embedded with chemically synthesized flavonoids (quercetin/luteolin) and optionally graphene quantum dots (GQDs).Upon exposure to raw milk and UV-A light, the film’s fluorescence is altered in the presence of mastitis-associated microbial toxins. A measurable decrease in fluorescence intensity or shift in colour emission allows immediate categorization of the milk sample as healthy, subclinical, or clinically mastitis. This low-cost, rapid detection method is practical, scalable, and farmer-friendly platform for rapid milk quality assessment in cattle, buffalo, goats, and sheep.
