Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a functional syrup composition comprising marigold flowers, marigold petals, marigold extracts, marigold powder, lutein- rich fractions, or combinations thereof together with a food-grade syrup base suitable for human consumption. The composition may further comprise one or more naturally occurring carotenoids, antioxidants, herbal ingredients, vitamins, minerals, flavouring agents, stabilizers, preservatives, and other food-grade additives. The invention further provides a process comprising collection, cleaning, extraction, filtration, blending with a syrup base, stabilization, filling, and packaging of the composition. The invention enables utilization of surplus or underutilized marigold flowers for preparation of value-added functional syrup products while promoting agricultural value addition, rural entrepreneurship, and sustainable utilization of floriculture resources. The composition may be marketed as a wellness syrup, beverage concentrate, nutritional supplement, or functional food product.
