Abstract: ABSTRACT MANUFACTURING OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS Techniques for manufacturing musical instruments are disclosed. A sheet is thermoformed to obtain a predetermined configuration. The thermoforming comprises deforming the sheet at a predetermined temperature to induce 5 malleability therein and machining the malleablized sheet to obtain the predetermined configuration. The sheet is made of thermoplastic. The predetermined configuration comprises surface topography and a surface profile that corresponds to a predetermined configuration of a region of a core component, the core component forming part of the musical instrument that is to 10 be manufactured. The sheet is dried and attached with the region of the core component to form a composite structure. The core component is made of wood. The techniques include applying compressive force on the composite structure. Fig. 6 15 26
