Inventors include Nayak, Rohan Rajesh; and Desai, Trupti Sanjay.
The application for the patent was published on June 05, 2026, under issue no. 23/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a manual transfer switch mechanism (100) designed for use in electric distribution boards to ensure continuous and reliable power supply to critical loads. The invention features a single modular mechanism capable of driving both contact sources through a single output axis with three stable positions, eliminating the need for individual mechanisms for each power source. The mechanism comprises a handle rotor (5) biased at an intended angle by flat leaf springs (51), a rack driver (6) connected to the handle rotor (5) to convert rotational motion to linear motion, and horizontal drivers (8A, 8B) actuated by the rack (7) to drive a CS rotor driver (9). The CS rotor driver (9) facilitates the actuation of either contact system (3, 4) from an OFF position to a respective ON position. The mechanism includes a charging spring (11) providing stored energy to drive the horizontal drivers (8A, 8B) and a mechanical interlocking system ensuring only one power source is active at any given time. The compact design fits within a 45 mm standard distribution board cutout, offering flexibility, cost efficiency, and enhanced reliability. The invention is particularly suitable for environments where continuous power supply is critical, such as data centers, hospitals, and industrial facilities.
