Abstract: The present invention relates to a Mangifera indica leaf extract based bioactive hydrogel dressing patch for topical wound care. The dressing comprises standardized mango leaf extract incorporated into a xanthan gum based hydrogel matrix. The leaf extract contains phytochemical constituents including flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, alkaloids, glycosides, and related bioactive compounds, and is characterized through phytochemical screening, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. The extract exhibits antibacterial activity against common wound-causing pathogens and antioxidant potential for reducing oxidative stress in damaged tissue. The formulation is particularly suitable for infection-prone wounds and diabetic skin lesions. Xanthan gum provides a smooth, biocompatible, moisture-retaining hydrogel base that enables uniform dispersion of the extract and prolonged topical contact. The invention provides a natural, cost- effective, plant-derived wound dressing composition having antimicrobial, antioxidant, and wound-supportive properties. Accompanied Drawing [FIGS. 1-2]
