MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611100474 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 20, 2026, for Magneto-Convection In Casson Nanofluids Using Blood As Base Fluid.

Inventor includes Dr. Mamta Devi.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the analytical and numerical investigation of magneto-convection in a blood-based non-Newtonian Casson Nano fluid subjected to a uniform vertical magnetic field. Brownian motion and thermophoretic nanoparticle transport are incorporated using Buongiorno's Nano fluid model, while the magnetic field introduces a Lorentz force through Maxwell's equations. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations using the normal mode technique and solved by the Galerkin weighted residual method to determine the critical thermal Rayleigh number. The influence of the magnetic field, Casson parameter, and nanoparticle parameters is evaluated under free-free, rigid-free, and rigid-rigid boundary conditions. The results demonstrate that rigid-rigid boundaries provide maximum stability, while the applied magnetic field delays convection and suppresses instability, making the invention suitable for biomedical heat transfer, cardiovascular flow analysis, and magnetic drug delivery applications.
