MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511020163 A) filed by Schneider Electric India Private Limited on March 06, 2025, for Magnetic Release - Reliability Improvement Through Constant Load Spring.

Inventor includes Rathi, Harsh, Kailash.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved magnetic release system for circuit breakers, utilizing a constant load spring (8) to enhance reliability and performance. The system comprises a fixed core (2) and a moving core (1), with the constant load spring (8) providing a consistent opposing force. This reduces the journey from the non-trip current (NT1) to the trip current (T) from 40% to 10%, as shown in FIG. 3. The system ensures that NT1 and NT2 are approximately 105% of the tripping current, with T at 115% for 1P. Thus for 2P in series, non trip current (NT) will be 95% of the tripping current and trip current (T) will be 105% of the tripping current ensuring compliance with IEC 60947-2 standards. The minimized air gap (9) between the fixed core (2) and moving core (1) reduces reluctance, enhancing electromagnetic force generation. The invention improves first-time yield, reduces production and testing time by 67%, and eliminates the need for multiple springs in high-rating applications, as illustrated in FIG. 4 and FIG. 5. This results in a more reliable, efficient, and compact magnetic release system for various circuit breakers. FIGURES 3 & 4
