Abstract: ABSTRACT: Magnetic Flux-Based Elevator Rope Defect Detection, Validation, Localization, and Predictive Monitoring System This invention describes an intelligent magnetic flux-based lift rope structural integrity monitoring system for detecting, validating, characterizing, and localizing defects in elevator lift ropes. The system utilizes magnetic flux variation analysis to identify structural irregularities and employs a multi-stage validation framework comprising initial defect detection, temporal verification, repeated confirmation, defect scanning, severity assessment, confidence evaluation, and predictive decision-making. The system further incorporates displacement-assisted measurement for determining defect location and defect length with improved accuracy. Validated defects are characterized based on signal magnitude, persistence, recurrence, and positional correlation, enabling reliable assessment of rope condition while substantially reducing false positive indications caused by transient disturbances or environmental interference. The system generates alerts only after completion of the validation process and may transmit validated defect information, including defect severity, location, length, and confidence level, to remote monitoring platforms. The invention enhances elevator safety, inspection reliability, predictive maintenance capability, and lifecycle management of lift ropes.
