The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a machine learning-driven smart waste segregation and recycling management device configured to automatically identify and segregate mixed waste and manage the resulting recyclable material streams. The device comprises a waste input assembly, item presentation mechanism, sensing chamber, plurality of sensors, processing controller, machine learning classification engine, sorting actuator, collection compartments, and recycling management module. The plurality of sensors acquires image, weight, moisture, dimensional, magnetic, inductive, optical, or other material-related characteristics of individual waste items. The machine learning classification engine processes combined sensor information to determine a waste category and associated classification confidence. A contamination analysis module further evaluates whether an identified recyclable item is suitable for a clean recycling stream. A sorting actuator selectively directs the waste item toward a corresponding collection compartment or uncertainty pathway. Fill-level and other monitoring sensors provide information concerning material accumulation, while verified classification information can be used to update the machine learning model. The device thereby provides automated waste segregation integrated with recycling collection and management.
