MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641112718 A) filed by Rajeev Gandhi Memorial College Of Engineering & Technology Autonomous on September 20, 2026, for Machine Learning-Based Intelligent Student Performance Prediction And Personalized Learning Recommendation System.
Inventors include Dr. M. Sravan Kumar Reddy; and Ms. Mangammagari Manisha.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: A machine learning-based intelligent student performance prediction and personalized learning recommendation system is disclosed. A data acquisition and feature module acquires data pertaining to a learner, prior performance, engagement and activity within a learning environment, and learner characteristics, and processes it into features. A prediction module, comprising a machine learning model trained on data of learners and outcomes, predicts from the features not merely an overall outcome but the particular topics and competencies in which the learner is predicted to have difficulty or a risk of underperformance, with a confidence. A recommendation module then generates, from the predicted difficulty, a personalized recommendation of learning resources and activities, a resource, exercise, remediation, or pathway, selected and adapted from a repository to address the particular predicted difficulty and suited to the learner, and delivers it to the learner in anticipation, before the difficulty manifests in poor performance, so that underperformance is forestalled rather than remediated after failure. A feedback and adaptation observes actual performance and the learner's response to update the prediction and recommendation and retrain the model, personalizing learning and improving over time where conventional education is uniform and reactive.
