MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641107192 A) filed by Rajeev Gandhi Memorial College Of Engineering & Technology Autonomous on September 07, 2026, for Machine Learning-Based Intelligent Phishing Website Detection And Real-Time User Alert System.

Inventors include Dr. Monelli Ayyavaraiah; and Ms. Pabbisetty Neha Gayathri Devi.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: A machine learning-based system for intelligent phishing website detection and real-time user alerting is disclosed. A feature extraction module extracts, from a website a user is about to access, a plurality of features across modalities: features of the uniform resource locator (length, internet protocol address use, deceptive tokens, subdomains, redirection), of the content and structure (credential-entry forms, mismatched-domain references, obscuring scripts, resemblance to a legitimate site), and of the domain and hosting (domain age, registration, security certificate). A classification module comprising a machine learning classifier, such as a decision-tree ensemble, support vector machine, or neural network, trained on labelled phishing and legitimate websites, computes from the features whether the site is a phishing website with a confidence. Because it detects by learned characteristics rather than a prior listing, it identifies new and unlisted phishing sites that blacklists miss, and is retrainable as phishing evolves. An alert module warns the user in real time before disclosure and, in embodiments, blocks access or submission, deployed at a browser extension, proxy, gateway, or service, protecting the user at the moment of danger.
