Abstract: The present invention discloses the development of an intelligent system that is designed using machine learning to predict library user behavior and make recommendations about personalized information resources. The proposed intelligent system is made up of the following components: user interaction data acquisition module (101), data preprocessing module (102), user behavior profiling module (103), academic context analysis module (104), resource profiling module (105), machine learning-based behavior prediction engine (106), personalized recommendation engine (107), recommendation ranking module (108), feedback processing module (109) and continuous learning module (110). The system uses user interaction data, such as searches, browsing history, borrowing history, downloads, ratings, academic context, and resource metadata to derive behavior features and predict future information needs of users. The candidate library resources are ranked in order of interest to the user, academic relevancy, resource similarity, interaction history, availability and feedback received. FIG.1
