The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a machine-learning-based driver height to side mirror angle prediction system for automatically determining a suitable vehicle side mirror angle from a height-related measurement of a driver. The system uses a structured dataset in which the height-related measurement is considered as the input feature and the recommended side mirror angle is considered as the continuous target output. A synthetic dataset generation method is employed by defining a realistic range of height values and mapping them to corresponding mirror angles using a smooth relationship with controlled variations to represent practical differences in seating posture, head position, sensor measurements, and user preferences. A Gradient Boosting Regressor is trained using the generated dataset to learn the relationship between the input measurement and mirror angle. The dataset is divided into training and testing portions to evaluate the prediction capability of the trained model. After training, the model is serialized and used during runtime to rapidly predict a suitable mirror angle for newly received height-related measurements. The predicted angle can subsequently be provided to the embedded controller for automatic mirror positioning. The proposed system provides a lightweight, modular, and retrainable machine-learning approach for adaptive vehicle mirror adjustment while reducing repetitive manual angle selection.
