Abstract: A filling machine (1) for filling capsules (100) comprises a plurality of operating stations (3- 8) for operating the capsules (100) and a planar motor system (2) for transferring the capsules (100) through the operating stations (3-8); the planar motor comprises a driving surface (9) and a plurality of moving units (21, 22) which can be electromagnetically coupled to the driving surface (9) to be moved contactless independently thereon; the moving units (21, 22) comprise a plurality of pairs (20), each of which is formed by a first moving unit (21), having upper seats (17) for housing caps (102) of the capsules (100), and a respective second moving unit (22), having lower seats (18) for housing bodies (101) of the capsules (100); the first moving unit (21) and the second moving unit (22) can be mutually positioned in a first operating configuration (A), in which the upper seats (17) surmount and are vertically aligned with the lower seats (18), and in a second operating configuration (B), in which the upper seats (17) and the lower seats (18) are spaced apart to allow the bodies (101) to be filled with a product.
