Abstract: An illuminated examination glove system for dental and medical applications is presented. The system comprises a reusable base mesh glove that serves as an integrated platform for electrical and optical components, including one or more fingertip-mounted light sources (such as compact light-emitting diodes), conductive traces or wiring connecting the lights to a power system, an embedded rechargeable battery with associated control circuitry for power management and optional brightness regulation, and a magnetic charging interface positioned for secure, sealed, and hygienic recharging without exposing electrical ports. Over this electronic mesh glove, the clinician wears a standard disposable sterile examination glove (e.g., nitrile, latex, or vinyl) during clinical procedures and examinations. The outer sterile glove provides an infection control barrier between the patient and the electronic base layer, protects the mesh and embedded components from blood, saliva, and other bodily fluids, and maintains normal tactile sensitivity and dexterity for precise clinical manipulation. Fingertip-mounted light sources deliver targeted, directional illumination that follows the examiner's finger position, providing hands-free lighting of the oral cavity and other confined anatomical regions, such as the pharynx, nasal passages, and small surgical sites. This configuration improves visibility, contrast, and shadow reduction compared to conventional overhead dental operating lights, chair-mounted lamps, or head-mounted illumination systems, particularly in deep or narrow anatomical spaces where traditional light sources may be obstructed or inadequate. The magnetic charging interface enables rapid, reliable, and fluidresistant charging, thereby extending device usability while maintaining infection control standards. The mesh glove is engineered for durability and repeated use and is capable of withstanding routine cleaning, whereas the outer sterile glove is single-use and disposable, aligning with standard clinical infection prevention protocols. The invention is particularly advantageous in dentistry, where precise illumination combined with sterility and ergonomic efficiency is essential for accurate examination, diagnosis, radiographic interpretation, documentation, and treatment of dental diseases.
