Inventors include Chiffey, Andrew Francis; Cooper, Oliver James; Corrigan, Christopher; Gholami, Rahman; Moreau, Francois Pierre Henri; and Pinto, Jose Jorge Baeta Fontinha.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: A diesel oxidation catalyst comprises a monolith substrate, a first washcoat zone and a first washcoat layer extending from a substrate inlet end to less than a total substrate axial length L and a second washcoat layer extending from a substrate outlet end to less than L, wherein the first washcoat layer comprises a large pore aluminosilicate zeolite including a ring size of twelve tetrahedral atoms, the first washcoat zone comprises a weight ratio of platinum to palladium of 10: 1 to 2: 1 at a total platinum group metal loading of 10 to 40 g/ft3, wherein an axial length of the first washcoat zone is less than an axial length of the second washcoat layer; a total platinum group metal loading in g/ft3 in the first washcoat zone is at least twice the total platinum group metal loading in the second washcoat layer; a total platinum group metal loading on the monolith substrate is from 7 to 20 g/ft3; and the zeolite loading in the first washcoat layer is 0.1 to 1.5 g/in3. In embodiments, the first washcoat zone and the first washcoat layer are combined.
