MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531079835 A) filed by Tezpur University on August 22, 2025, for Low-Cost Transverse Rumble Strip For Enhanced Vibratory Response In Vehicle Sprung Mass.

Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: Low-cost Transverse Rumble strip for Enhanced Vibratory Response in Vehicle Sprung mass A transverse rumble strip is provided alongwith a method of its setting up involving enhanced vibration inducing capability in vehicle sprung mass in respect of unsprung mass through wheel and suspension system displacement and comprising asymmetric multistep rumble strip having stepped excitation regions facing the vehicle wheel motion and wherein the initial step and subsequent steps of said multistep rumble facing the vehicle wheel provide to generate spaced stagewise plurality of displacement peaks of the unsprung mass for a cumulative vibration inducement to the connected vehicle sprung mass.
