Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a portable air collection device (102) for collecting an air sample from an aquatic body. The portable air collection device (102) includes a septa valve (104) configured to allow an extraction of the air sample from an air water interface of the aquatic body. The portable air collection device (102) includes an air collection chamber (106) configured to enclose the air sample extracted by the septa valve (104). The septa valve (104) is connected to and mounted on a top of the air collection chamber (106). The air portable air collection device (102) includes a thermometer (108) mounted inside the air collection chamber (106), configured to monitor and record an ambient air temperature inside the air collection chamber (106) during a collection of the air sample. The air portable air collection device (102) includes a fan (110) mounted inside the air collection chamber (106), configured to displace the air sample uniformly inside the air collection chamber (106). The air portable air collection device (102) also includes a rubber flotation ring (112) wound around a periphery of a lower portion of the air collection chamber (106) configured to generate a buoyancy and a stable positioning of the portable air collection device (102) in the aquatic body.
