MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641103834 A) filed by Chennai Institute Of Technology on August 28, 2026, for Low-Cost Ai-Integrated Npk Sensor For Soil Nutrient Monitoring.
Inventors include Blessy Jeba Pushpam B; Dr. Thanigaivelraja. M; Dr R Sankar; R Raghuraman; and P. Prabakaran.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The titled invention discloses a low-cost Al-integrated soil nutrient monitoring system for real-time detection of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) levels in soil. The system comprises a soil nutrient sensing unit (1), microcontroller-based control unit (2), Al-based analysis module (3), display unit (4), wireless communication 1.0 unit (5), power supply unit (6), and sensor probe (7). The sensor probe (7) provides electrical or optical signals corresponding to nutrient concentrations, which are processed by the microcontroller-based control unit (2) and interpreted using the Albased analysis module (3). The system provides nutrient readings and fertilizer recommendations based on the analysed sensor information. The display unit (4) 15 provides nutrient status and deficiency information, while the wireless communication unit (5) provides optional integration with smartphones or farm-management platforms. The system is portable, lightweight, battery-powered, and suitable for field usage, providing a low-cost and sustainable solution for precision agriculture and soil health monitoring.
