MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541025652 A) filed by Krushnun A V on March 20, 2025, for Low Capex Hvo Blend Via Stabilized Amorphization As Modified Green Bio Diesel.
Inventor includes Krushnun A V.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: “ LOW CAPEX HVO BLEND VIA STABILIZED AMORPHIZATION AS MODIFIED GREEN BIO DESIEL” relates to a process for producing a blendable hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) suitable for blending with fossil diesel fuel. Waste cooking oil is first conditioned to remove impurities and then subjected to hydrotreatment to produce hydrotreated vegetable oil. The hydrotreated vegetable oil normally forms a crystalline paraffinic structure that exhibits poor miscibility with fossil diesel and therefore typically requires hydrocracking or isomerization for blending. In the present invention, the crystalline hydrotreated vegetable oil is converted into a stabilized amorphous form through an amorphization process comprising mechanical size reduction, controlled low-temperature treatment, and energy-assisted structural disruption. The resulting amorphous hydrotreated vegetable oil exhibits improved compatibility with fossil diesel and enables direct blending without isomerization. The process reduces capital expenditure and operational complexity while facilitating decentralized production and improved utilization of waste cooking oil for alternative diesel fuel applications.
