Abstract: The invention provides a low-cost portable cotton-picking machine. Harvesting cotton is one of the most profitable agricultures but nowadays cotton picking is still performed manually by labours in most cotton farming areas. Cotton picking manually needs more time duration, effort and also require more labour force. It becomes difficult for farmers to find labor during peak harvesting season due to less availability which leads to high harvesting cost. There are large size cotton harvesting machines available but they are very costly. Also, those machines are suitable only for big farms. Purchasing and maintenance cost are high that make those machines unreachable to small and medium cotton farmers. Hence, there is a demand of low-cost machine which can be operated easily. The invention purports to teach hybrid portable cotton-picking machine which uses combination of vibration, rotating soft rubber rollers and suction technology into lightweight hand-held machine. Here, rechargeable battery is connected to D. C. motor which further provides controlled vibration. The vibration created from vibrating comb helps to loosen the cotton fibers present on cotton ball. Rotating soft rubber rollers helps in pulling cotton fibers without harming the cotton plant. Lastly, small suction fan inside the handle provides airflow to suck cotton through funnel into cotton collection bag. The invention especially reduces dependency on labors, harvest time and aims to increase cotton collection efficiency thus reducing overall harvesting cost. Proposed machine offers solution to farmers especially for small and medium scale farmers and helps them for economical mechanization.
